Channing Tatum‘s Gambit return scene, cut from Deadpool & Wolverine, was tied directly to Avengers: Doomsday.
Ryan Reynolds has already shared a deleted scene from Deadpool & Wolverine that shows Gambit made it back to his own universe.

We have received a reliable leak revealing that the deleted scene of Gambit leaving the Void from Deadpool & Wolverine was originally planned to be the teaser for Avengers: Doomsday, where he returns to his universe—which is the same one seen in The Marvels post-credit scene.
As The Cosmic Circus‘ Alex Perez has already confirmed, Tatum’s Gambit is returning to the X-Men universe and joining Charles Xavier, Beast, and the rest of the X-Men to fight Robert Downey Jr.‘s Doctor Doom.
During production, a few leaked images appeared online showing a destroyed Sentinel in front of the X-Mansion. It is reported that Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom will be using Sentinels to fight the X-Men in Avengers: Doomsday.
Directed by Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator, Stephen McFeely. Newton Thomas Sigel (Bohemian Rhapsody, X-Men: Days of Future Past) will be the cinematographer.
