‘Rick and Morty‘ Season 7 debuts its first episode on Adult Swim. During the premiere, it was confirmed that Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden were revealed as the new voice actors for Rick and Morty, respectively, along with Jon Allen as the new voice actor for Mr. Poopybutthole.
What is the Plot of ‘Rick and Morty’ Season 7?
According to the official synopsis from Adult Swim:
“Rick and Morty are back and sounding more like themselves than ever! It’s season seven, and the possibilities are endless: what’s up with Jerry? EVIL Summer?! And will they ever go back to high school?! Maybe not! But let’s find out! There’s probably less piss than last season. ‘Rick and Morty,’ 100 years! Or at least until season 10!”
Season 7 is part of a deal between the show’s creators, Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, and Adult Swim. This deal involves the release of a total of 70 episodes over multiple seasons. Thirty episodes were included in seasons four, five, and six, leaving 40 episodes still to come.
Variety reported that in January, Adult Swim fired Roiland due to domestic violence charges. He co-created ‘Rick and Morty’ with Harmon and voiced various characters on the show. The charges were later dismissed in March. In September, NBC published a report accusing Roiland of using his fame to meet young women, some of whom were underage. One woman alleged sexual assault by Roiland, but he denied the allegations through his attorney.
