(Warning: This post contains potential spoilers for Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday.)
Lewis Pullman, who plays “Bob”/Sentry in the MCU, says Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday will not be a cameo-heavy film.
In a recent interview with Esquire, Pullman revealed that the Russo brothers focused on giving every hero a purpose instead of leaving them in the background. Despite having a large cast, every character will have meaningful moments in the story.
According to Pullman, Doomsday will feature many exciting and unexpected character pairings, and fans will get to see team-ups they have always imagined.
Pullman said, “It’s going back to the serum of the human archetypes that our art is built off of.”
He added, “Every character has their moment that builds the dimensions of them,” he says. “The Russo Brothers did that so well. They do not want anyone just sitting in the background — they really took to heart the responsibility of having some of the best actors in the world all together. There’s a lot of really exciting pair-ups that happen. A lot of fans will be really excited. It’s so fun to dream about. What if A and B would work together? Would B and D work together? You get to see a lot of those fantasies come to fruition.”
In a plot leak of Doomsday, it is reported that Pullman’s Sentry is very important to the story. Sentry’s past, including his relationship with his mother, Annie Reynolds, will be explored through emotional flashbacks. He also plays a key role in Doctor Doom’s (Robert Downey Jr.) plan.
Directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron.
