After concluding the Multiverse Saga with Avengers: Secret Wars, the MCU is getting a “soft reboot.” At this year’s Disney D23, Marvel Studios officially announced the Phase 7 movies of the MCU, including X-Men, Ghost Rider, and Black Panther III.
Marvel Boss Kevin Feige recently revealed Marvel’s new “quality over quantity” strategy. He said, “A lot of it is a strategy we’ve talked about for a while: focusing on quality.”
According to scooper James Mack, Marvel has planned the lineup of Phase 7 movies. It features nine movies in total as part of the next saga. The slate will include five solo films and four team-up films, with one of them being an Avengers event.
The reporter claims that an animated Guardians of the Galaxy series is in development and that a space-based team-up movie is also in development at Marvel Studios. It will include Star-Lord, Nova, and Silver Surfer.
Marvel’s 2028 Slate Begins With Ghost Rider and Black Panther III

In a recent interview with Empire, Feige confirmed that Avengers: Secret Wars will set up the future of the MCU, with the 2028 slate beginning with Ghost Rider and Black Panther III.
He said, “We always try to focus on quality, but when the quantity is so much, you get spread thin. We didn’t want to be spread thin, and the Avengers are as important as it gets. And Secret Wars, in particular for Empire readers who know the comics, is a setup in and of itself for the future, for what’s next. So really, it was about landing those two movies and setting up 2028, of which we’ve revealed two so far: Ghost Rider and Black Panther III.”
For now, Marvel has movie plans mapped out through 2042, according to Feige. “We were just in a Marvel Studios meeting room, planning movies all the way up to 2042,” Feige revealed. “Whether we can make it to 2042? Who knows? Will it be those movies? Who knows? But this is how we approach and plan the vast amount of potential stories in the comics. We’re constantly changing, constantly evolving, but having some guidance helps us act more purposefully… especially with the X-Men—they’ve already had 10 movies, some very, very good, and some that I think haven’t lived up to expectations. How do we plan the Mutant Saga in a very grand way?”
