Marvel Studios and the president of the studio, Kevin Feige, are now worried about hiring the Russo Brothers to direct the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars following the big-budget Netflix movie The Electric State flopping, and its score affecting the studio’s decision to rethink.
According to a report from MyTimeToShineHello on X (formerly Twitter): ‘I hear Feige and Marvel are getting worried after seeing how bad The Electric State is and are starting to reconsider whether rehiring the Russos was a mistake.’
Filming for Avengers: Doomsday is close to beginning production in the United Kingdom. Currently, a huge set is being constructed at the location. At this point, Marvel has no option to cancel the Russo Brothers’ Avengers projects. They have already directed major films like Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, both of which grossed $2 billion at the worldwide box office.
All the MCU projects the Russo Brothers handled were well-made. In a recent interview, the Russo Brothers said the upcoming Avengers films will be ‘a new beginning’ for the MCU. ‘We told an ending story [with Endgame], now we’re going to tell a beginning story.’

In an interview with Omelete, the Russo Brothers teased how Robert Downey Jr.‘s Doctor Doom will be presented in the Avengers films. ‘We love villains who think they are the heroes of their own stories.’
Avengers: Doomsday will mark the beginning of the end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). As the multiverse nears total collapse, the Avengers assemble to face their biggest challenge yet—incursions, catastrophic collisions between realities that could destroy the entire multiverse. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes must race against time to save their reality while confronting the powerful figure behind it all—Victor Von Doom (Downey Jr.).
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film is joined by longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely, who is penning the screenplay.
