The new logo for Marvel’s ‘Thunderbolts*‘ has been revealed at CinemaCon 2024. Along with that, we received more updates from Marvel Boss Kevin Feige for the film. ‘Thunderbolts*’ will be fully filmed for IMAX.
Why Does The Film, Previously Titled ‘Thunderbolts,’ Now Have An Asterisk At The End?
The film, previously titled ‘Thunderbolts,’ now has an asterisk at the end. According to Feige, this asterisk is for a reason, and we will find out after the movie’s release.
During the logo presentation, Feige said, “Yes, you’ll notice the asterisk on ‘Thunderbolts.’ That is the official title of ‘Thunderbolts,’ and we won’t talk more about that until after the movie comes out.”
Florence Pugh, who plays Yelena Belova in the film, has sent a message from the set of ‘Thunderbolts*’ while eating mac-n-cheese with spicy sauce. (Watch the video)
Pugh said, “Hello CinemaCon, how are you doing? I’m so gutted that I’m not there to say hi, but I’m on a night shoot on the Fantastic set Thunderbolts, eating my macaroni cheese and spicy sauce, and I’m sending you my love. But I hear Kevin’s with you, which is kind of just as good if not better. Hi, Kevin, how are you doing? I hope you have a wonderful afternoon, and I’ll see you next time.”
The filming is currently happening in Atlanta. Recently, leaked images of Pugh, Geraldine Viswanathan, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus on the set surfaced.
Directed by Jake Schreier and stars Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Pugh as Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, Louis-Dreyfus as Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Harrison Ford as President Thaddeus Ross, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, and Viswanathan as Erin. Laurence Fishburne and Rachel Weisz are confirmed to reprise their roles as scientist Bill Foster and spy Melina Vostakov.
Joanna Calo, the showrunner of ‘The Bear,’ is confirmed to be working on the script. Originally penned by Lee Sung Jin and Eric Pearson. The plot details are unknown at this time.
Produced by Feige, Brian Chapek, Matthew Jenkins, and David J. Grant. Andrew Droz Palermo replaces Steve Yedlin as the cinematographer for ‘Thunderbolts’ due to scheduling conflicts.
‘Thunderbolts’ hits theaters on May 2, 2025.
