Netflix has officially started production for ‘Heartstopper‘ Season 3, directed by Andy Newbery, with Simona Susnea as the cinematographer. Alice Oseman is confirmed to return as a writer for Season 3. The title of the first episode of season 3 is “Love,” as confirmed by Netflix’s Tudum.
On Twitter (X), Netflix wrote, “‘Heartstopper’ season 3 is officially in production.” See the post below.
The show stars Kit Connor as Nick Nelson, Joe Locke as Charlie Spring, William Gao as Tao Xu, Yasmin Finney as Elle Argent, Tobie Donovan as Isaac Henderson, Jenny Walser as Tori Spring, Corinna Brown as Tara Jones, Kizzy Edgell as Darcy Olsson, Cormac Hyde-Corrin as Harry Greene, Rhea Norwood as Imogen Heaney, Stephen Fry as the voice of Headmaster Barnes, Fisayo Akinade as Mr. Ajayi, Chetna Pandya as Coach Singh, and Olivia Colman as Sarah Nelson.
In Season 2 of the show, while it follows the essence of the original comics penned and illustrated by series creator Alice Oseman, there are also some deviations. As Oseman explained in an interview earlier this year, ‘In the comics, there are a couple of moments where Charlie thinks he’s going to say ‘I love you’ and then decides not to, but the actual cliff-hanger at the end of Season 2 is not something that is in the comics.
‘Heartstopper’ Season 3 is set to premiere on Netflix in 2024.
