Warning: This post contains spoilers for Avengers: Doomsday.
A new merchandise artwork for Avengers: Doomsday has leaked online. The poster features the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men heroes who will unite to face Robert Downey Jr.‘s Doctor Doom.
The artwork includes 10 characters: Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal), Captain America (Anthony Mackie), Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), Gambit (Channing Tatum), Black Panther (Letitia Wright), Beast (Kelsey Grammer), and Cyclops (James Marsden).

The images shows the Fantastic Four led by Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards, along with Thor returning with short hair and a new battle suit. Beast and Gambit also appear with comic-accurate designs. Another major highlight is Shuri’s Black Panther fighting alongside Sam Wilson’s Captain America.

In an interview with Fandango, Marvel President Kevin Feige said that Avengers: Doomsday is inspired by a famous Marvel comic storyline. The story will involve universes colliding with one another.
Feige said, “I think people know that the story of Doomsday is inspired by a very famous comic run in which universes are colliding, Earths encounter one another, and different timelines encounter one another… It just felt like an amazing opportunity to pit multiple universes against each other while still making you care about all of them.”

In a recent interview with Metro.co.uk, Joe Russo opened up about Avengers: Doomsday being spoiled:
He said, “On one hand, audiences want to be surprised, and that’s part of what makes the theatrical experience exciting. On the other hand, it can become a little over-policed, where people are anxious about engaging with anything.”
He added, “We design these films to unfold in a certain way, and we want audiences to feel those moments as intended. But at the same time, you can’t control everything. You have to focus on making something that holds up beyond the initial surprise.”
Here’s the new synopsis for Avengers: Doomsday from Walt Disney Studios:
“Beloved heroes from three distinct universes will be set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.”
