Netflix has recently changed the overall rating for Stranger Things from TV-14 to TV-MA. Also, a new leak from the set has confirmed a time jump to 1989, where we will see the original four characters — Will, Mike, Dustin, and Lucas — graduate.
The Hawk! Downtown Hawkins is slowly being rebuilt in Georgia for the final episode of Stranger Things — and it appears the Season 5 finale will take place in 1989 — with Hawkins restored to its original condition.
Mike, Will, Dustin, and Lucas are expected to survive — and graduate from Hawkins High School. The show’s co-creator Matt Duffer confirms that Season 5 will be the final season, concluding the stories of Eleven, Dustin, Lucas, and Hopper.

During the Happy Sad Confused podcast’s 10th-anniversary celebration in New York City, Harbour stated that the final season “is the best episode they’ve ever done.”
“I can be very critical of this show,” he revealed, adding that in Season 5, Episode 8, “they land the plane, and it is the best episode they’ve ever done.”
Created by the Duffer brothers. The show is set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s and follows a group of friends as they uncover supernatural mysteries and government conspiracies.
Stranger Things Season 5 will premiere on Netflix in 2025.
