Marvel Studios has released a second batch of promotional art for Marvel Animation’s X-Men ’97 Season 2.
The images reveal closer looks at updated character designs and costumes, as well as a better look at Apocalypse, whose appearance was hinted at during the aftermath of Genosha and Gambit’s death in Season 1.
The main teams in X-Men ’97 Season 2 reportedly include:
- Wasteland Team — Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, and Morph
- Ancient Egypt Team — Rogue, Magneto, Nightcrawler, Bishop, and Beast
- X-Force — Cable, Psylocke, Archangel, Sunspot, and Jubilee
- X-Factor — Havok, Polaris, Strong Guy, Wolfsbane, Multiple Man, and Val Cooper
- X-Corp — Cyclops, Jean Grey, Polaris, Rogue, Nightcrawler, Bishop, and Beast

X-Men ’97 serves as a continuation of the 1992 X-Men: The Animated Series, picking up after the loss of Professor X (Ross Marquand). Cyclops (Ray Chase) takes leadership of the team as they confront threats like Mister Sinister (Christopher Britton) and Bastion (Theo James).
Matthew Chauncey serves as head writer for Season 2, with Jake Castorena as supervising director and Charley Feldman as supervising producer. Directors Chase Conley and Emi-Emmett Yonemura return from Season 1, while Larry Houston and Eric and Julia Lewald have been promoted to executive producers.
X-Men ’97 Season 2 is officially set to world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 13 and will premiere later this year on Disney+.
