Robert Downey Jr. has shared a new post featuring an art image of Doctor Doom and Iron Man for Thanksgiving on his Instagram.
The image has teased a big connection between Downey’s past role as Tony Stark and his new role as Doctor Doom in the MCU. There are reports that the first-look trailer for Avengers: Doomsday is releasing next month.

He Who Remains created Earth-616 as a “sacred,” controlled timeline to hide the true history of the multiverse. Victor Von Doom was deemed too dangerous, so He Who Remains rewrote him into the 616 timeline as Tony Stark, altering his mind and giving him a new life as a hero.
Tony’s lifelong feeling of not belonging was actually Doom’s original identity trying to resurface. The time travel in Endgame was allowed by He Who Remains because he needed a Loki variant to survive outside his control.
When Tony Stark dies, part of He Who Remains’s control collapses. After He Who Remains’s own death, the barriers between realities break, restoring every version of Doom. The Doom who once fought in the Multiversal War regains his memories and feels humiliated for being turned into a puppet — fueling his desire not just for revenge, but to rebuild the multiverse himself.
In The Fantastic Four: First Steps post-credits scene, Doom manipulates Franklin Richards by revealing the hidden truth about the multiverse. Doom plans to use Franklin and other powerful beings to reshape reality.
Directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron. The film features cinematography by Newton Thomas Sigel (Bohemian Rhapsody, X-Men: Days of Future Past) and production design by Kasra Farahani.
