Robert Pattinson will play a Patrick Bateman-like character named Stephen Lewis Deesner, a cunning serial killer who manipulates laws to enable his killings, in Adam McKay‘s ‘Average Height, Average Build.’
Who is Patrick Bateman?
Patrick Bateman, a character from ‘American Psycho’ by Bret Easton Ellis and played by Christian Bale in the film adaptation, is a wealthy and narcissistic investment banker in 1980s New York City. He’s a sociopathic serial killer who conceals his violent and sadistic nature behind a facade of materialism and charm. Bateman is characterized by his fixation on material possessions, designer clothing, and grooming, as well as his brutal acts of violence, especially against women.
The Cast of ‘Average Height, Average Build’
As per What’s on Netflix, in the film, Pattinson is playing a serial killer called Stephen Lewis Deesner, described as a serial killer who’s on the prowl and extremely smart, using lobbying for laws to be changed or removed to allow him to kill. Think of him as a Patrick Bateman-type character.
