Recently, a new promo for the film was revealed at the 2023 New York Toy Fair. Directed by Adam Wingard from a screenplay by Terry Rossio, Simon Barrett, and Jeremy Slater. The film is produced by Legendary Pictures, and distributed by Warner Bros. It’s a sequel to ‘Godzilla vs. Kong‘ (2021), part of the MonsterVerse.
What is the Plot of ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’?
According to the film’s plot from Legendary and Warner Bros.: This latest entry follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence—and our own. The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins, and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.
The film stars Dan Stevens, Rebecca Hall as Dr. Ilene Andrews, Brian Tyree Henry as Bernie Hayes, Kaylee Hottle as Jia, along with Fala Chen, Alex Ferns, and Rachel House.
‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ is the 38th in the Godzilla franchise, the 13th in King Kong’s, and the fifth Godzilla film produced entirely by an American studio. The film is reported to have a runtime of 2 hours and 2 minutes.
