James Gunn revealed that he planned to make a cameo for Stan Lee as Lambshank in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but unfortunately, he passed away. Stan Lee would have lent his voice and portrayed a character with a likeness similar to his own iconic face.

James Gunn Reveals Stan Lee-inspired Character ‘Lambshank’ in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Commentary
During the director’s commentary of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, James Gunn revealed that he wrote the character Lambshank, which he played, with Stan Lee in mind.
“But I originally wrote Lambshank, the character that I played, for Stan Lee because I wrote the movie before Stan passed on.”
“And I knew he was also getting much older and it’d be harder to bring him to Atlanta to shoot, so I did a character that I could just animate and then have him do the voice and have a little Stan Lee-like face on that character. But unfortunately, Stan passed, who I really enjoyed working with and directing so many times through these movies.”
The film is written and directed by James Gunn and stars Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Zoe Saldaña as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, featuring Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Sean Gunn as Kraglin Obfonteri, Chukwudi Iwuji as Herbert Wyndham/High Evolutionary, Will Poulter as Adam Warlock, Elizabeth Debicki as Ayesha, Maria Bakalova as Cosmo and Sylvester Stallone as Stakar Ogord. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 gives a legendary ending to the legendary characters. The film had almost all the elements of laughter, emotional moments, and incredible actions.
