SYNCIA is the latest alias from a prolific UK DJ/Producer recognized for outstanding club cuts over the past few years. Already signing music to Studio 338’s in-house label Release, Sankeys and Kneaded Pains, and actively remixing a slew of classic cuts from Dense & Pika to Soul Central’s global House anthem ‘Strings Of Life’ and Inner City’s ‘Reach’, SYNCIA is fast creating a sizable impact on the scene this year.
SYNCIA (pronounced Sincere) was inspired by the word ‘Synesthesia’, a condition where you visualize sounds. He explains: “The name popped into my head as I was hunting for a pseudonym as I was playing around with Synesthesia, and a quick Google later led me to a couple of posts where some posts said it was of Chinese origin and meant Star, and some said Kenyan origin meaning blue sunflower, and I thought that’s OK with me.”
2023 saw SYNCIA launch his own imprint Taikomochi Records, immediately finding favor with the world’s leading DJs. The debut release, his own track ‘Tell me’ saw the track position at No.1 on the Traxsource Techno Chart. This is a clear testament to his dancefloor focussed energy. With a sound that’s rapidly becoming a firm favorite of the likes of Jamie Jones, Nicole Moudaber, Dombreski, and Sarah Story, he continues to deliver weighty tracks that instantly tear up clubs and festivals with a well-seasoned edge.
What’s next for SYNCIA?
Taking things to the next level, he has teamed up with Release LDN for a brand new 4-track EP serving up a super solid selection of club-fused raw techno and house. To mark the occasion of this new EP Syncia closed out the world-famous garden at Studio 338’s summer festival in London with Lilly Palmer, Cassy, Ray Okpara, and more. With a slew of DJ gigs planned for the coming year, we were lucky to hear Syncia at Pikes Ibiza.
