Tough Competition Awaits ‘The Flash’ as ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ and ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ Thrive at the Box Office
There will be tough competition for ‘The Flash’ in the opening weekend, as the film ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse‘ has grossed $430 million at the worldwide box office and ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts‘ has grossed $200 million at the worldwide box office. Both films are still running in theaters with no drop weekends.
‘The Flash’ sequel with Ezra Miller is still in development. The script has already been completed. According to The Wrap, in order to secure a sequel, the film will need to perform at a similar level to ‘The Batman,’ which grossed $770 million worldwide.
The Flash, directed by Andy Muschietti and written by Christina Hodson, the plot is based on the comic book storyline “Flashpoint,” and follows: Worlds collide when the Flash uses his superpowers to travel back in time to change the events of the past. However, when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, he becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation. With no other superheroes to turn to, the Flash looks to coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian—albeit not the one he’s looking for. Read our review.
