The Russo Brothers have revealed big spoilers for the upcoming Avengers movies, Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. Even before filming starts, they have confirmed the runtime for both films.
The Russo Brothers gave an estimate of what the runtimes may be for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars:
• Avengers: Doomsday — 2.5 hours
• Avengers: Secret Wars — 3 hours
In a recent interview with Collider, the Russo Brothers confirmed that Avengers: Doomsday will be a massive film, and Avengers: Secret Wars will be even bigger, adapting a major crossover comic. They said the runtimes will be similar to Infinity War and Endgame.
“If I were a betting man, I would say the first one is two and a half, and the second one’s three hours.”
Recently, the concept art for the Avengers movies leaked online, which shattered the internet. The major spoilers came from an ex-Marvel employee and were deleted within a few hours.
Doomsday is a multiverse film—because it serves as the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga. The plot follows Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, who isn’t truly evil—he believes he is trying to save the multiverse from incursions. In his twisted logic, the only way for the multiverse to survive is to unify all universes in one place—Battleworld—under his rule. He sees this as the sole path to ensuring survival for everyone.
Filming is scheduled to begin in April 2025, with set construction already underway in London, UK. X user @UnBoxPHD recently shared an image of the Doomsday set currently being built. Russo Brothers will direct the film from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely.
