An update from production weekly revealed Sony’s highly anticipated film, “Venom 3,” is officially in development and pre-production. The filming is scheduled to commence on June 5th, 2023, with major locations being set in London, United Kingdom, and Los Angeles, CA, United States.
The new plot details reveal that Venom is a hulking and deformed version of Spider-Man who has a vengeance against Peter Parker. It remains to be seen how this conflict will play out in the film, but fans can expect an action-packed and thrilling adventure as Venom takes on his nemesis. “A hulking and twisted distortion of Spider-Man, Venom is the result of an alien symbiote merged with a human holding a bitter grudge against Peter Parker.”
The film is directed by Kelly Marcel from a screenplay she co-wrote with Tom Hardy. The film is a sequel to Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage. The film stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom and Juno Temple is the only confirmed cast member as of now.
Produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Hutch Parker, Kelly Marcel, and Tom Hardy. The film is part of Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man cinematic universe, which is separate from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), which focuses on characters such as Spider-Man.
Venom, which was released in 2018, grossed $850 million worldwide, while its sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which was released in 2021, grossed $470 million worldwide.
Venom 3 hits theaters in 2024.
