Josh Hartnett confirms he will star in M. Night Shyamalan’s next film ‘Trap‘, describing it as “very bizarre, very dark and wild.” The film is a psychological thriller set at a concert.
In the psychological thriller, Saleka Shyamalan plays a pop star whose concert is central to the story, while Josh plays a father who takes his child to the concert and gets unwittingly caught up in the events.
Speaking to IndieWire during the 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, Hartnett described his upcoming Shyamalan film ‘Trap’ as “very bizarre, very dark, and wild.”
Hartnett said, “Well, it is a pivot, yeah, but in all my movies, I try to make all my roles pivots because I think you’re playing the same thing again and again and it gets boring to the audience.”
“So, yeah, I mean, working with M Night was one of the best experiences of my career. I think he’s a true artist in the capital. I sense the word, and I think people are going to be really surprised and excited about the movie we made. It’s very bizarre, very dark, and it’s wild, so I hope you enjoy it.”
The film is directed and written by Shyamalan and also stars Saleka. Shyamalan, along with his Philadelphia-based production company Blinding Edge Pictures, led by president of production Ashwin Rajan, will develop original projects for the filmmaker to produce and/or direct for Warner Bros Pictures and New Line Cinema, divisions of WBPG production.
‘Trap’ will hit theaters on August 2, 2024, by Warner Bros. Pictures.
