Marvel Studios recently approached an A-list actor to play the main villain in Marvel and Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man 4, starring Tom Holland.
According to insider Daniel Richtman in his Patreon post, “Marvel Studios has reportedly made an offer to a big actor for the main villain role in Spider-Man 4.” The name of the actor has not been mentioned. We will soon get an update on whether the star has accepted or rejected the offer.
Filming is scheduled to begin in June 2025 in the United Kingdom and is expected to wrap in October 2025. The script is reportedly still undergoing rewrites by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers following the weak structure of the early draft. Marvel President Kevin Feige and Sony Pictures feel pressured to deliver something even better, with the writing team working to fix the plot and improve the story. The original script featured Scorpion and Shocker, but it has now been scrapped.
The script for Spider-Man 4 is expected to be completed by March and the film will have a budget of $200 million.
