The first look at Jon Bernthal as The Punisher in Marvel’s The Punisher: One Last Kill has been revealed by Disney. The special focuses on Frank Castle trying to leave the Punisher life behind.

In The Punisher: One Last Kill, Frank Castle attempts to quit being The Punisher but gets dragged back into conflict. Connections to Daredevil: Born Again remain unclear, and Bernthal’s next appearance will be in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Frank has been missing since Daredevil: Born Again Season 1. One Last Kill could reveal why and connect directly to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
Here is the plot details for The Punisher: One Last Kill:
“As Frank Castle searches for meaning beyond revenge, an unexpected force pulls him back into the fight.”
It stars Jon Bernthal stars as Frank Castle / The Punisher, alongside Jason R. Moore as Curtis Hoyle, his close friend and former U.S. Navy SARC who now leads a therapy group after losing part of his leg in combat, with Roe Rancell as Dennis, Mila Jaymes as Charli, and Ma Gnucci appearing as a powerful crime boss.
The Punisher: One Last Kill is directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and co-written by Green and Jon Bernthal for Disney+. Based on the Marvel Comics character, it will be the third Marvel Studios Special Presentation in the MCU, sharing continuity with the franchise’s films and series.
Inspired by the classic arc “Welcome Back, Frank” (Garth Ennis, 2000), the special tells the story of Frank Castle’s last great hunt and how his crusade, unintentionally, sparks the chaos that will later consume New York.
Bernthal’s bearded Frank Castle looks similar to the Punisher comics by Greg Rucka (2011–2012). Those comics introduced Rachel Cole-Alves, a Punisher trainee. Sadie Sink was rumored to play her in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but now she is believed to be playing Jean Grey. These projects, along with Daredevil: Born Again and The Punisher: One Last Kill, will lead into Avengers: Doomsday.
The Punisher: One Last Kill will premiere on Disney+ on May 12, one week after the Season 2 finale of Daredevil: Born Again.
