(Warning: This post contains potential spoilers for Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday.)
Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom will have multiple wizards and witches by his side in Latveria, where Doom rules, in Avengers: Doomsday. Marvel Studios announced during its Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con that Hayley Atwell will return as Peggy Carter in Doomsday.
Following the recent leak of promotional images featuring the Latverian witches, it is reportedly believed that one of the witches is Peggy Carter. On X, scooper James Mack claimed, “Only one of the Latverian witches will show her face, guys, and she’s disguised as Peggy Carter.”

In a recent rumored Avengers: Doomsday plot leak, one of the Latverian witches is disguised as Peggy Carter. She is there to manipulate Steve Rogers/Nomad.
Nomad’s son, James Rogers, will be killed in front of his father in Avengers: Doomsday shortly after Doom takes him to Castle Latveria.
Steve Rogers, as Nomad, will be one of the main characters and leads in Avengers: Doomsday, but his role will be smaller in Avengers: Secret Wars.
Victor Von Doom (Downey Jr.) is revealed as the mysterious and enigmatic monarch of Latveria. Behind his impenetrable mask, he is a master of both sorcery and technology.
In a recent interview with TheWrap, Atwell said Peggy Carter’s return in Avengers: Doomsday is a testament to the fans. Atwell described returning as Peggy as “bittersweet and nostalgic.”
Atwell said, “I think it’s always testament to the fans that they are committed to the enduring love story between Steve and Peggy. And to be able to come back in that kind of way, it feels very bittersweet and nostalgic, but really comes from the fans wanting that.”
Atwell also said the “pure” bond between Peggy Carter and Steve Rogers is one of the reasons she returned for Avengers: Doomsday.
“You can’t replace human connection. If, at the core, it’s characters that we’re fully invested in and care about, then we’ll go on that ride.”
