Daredevil: Born Again will conclude with Season 3, as Marvel officially announced at New York Comic Con 2026 that the third season will be the show’s finale. Daredevil: Born Again was reportedly not renewed beyond Season 3 after showrunner Dario Scardapane parted ways with Marvel Studios. His contract expired and was not renewed during the final stages of Season 3’s post-production.
In a recent interview with PEOPLE at NYCC, Charlie Cox revealed that his 6-year-old son was “devastated” when he found out that Daredevil: Born Again would be ending after its third season.

Cox knew that saying goodbye to his iconic Marvel character, Matt Murdock, would be difficult after playing the vigilante for 12 years. However, he did not expect the news to affect his young son so deeply.
“I don’t think I am prepared for it. It’s been 12 years of my life. I think it’s very likely that at the end of my career, whenever that is, this character will be the most important to me,” Cox said. He added, “I don’t know if you can prepare yourself for that. I’m trying to prepare my son for it more than I’m preparing myself. He’s devastated.”
Cox, who first played Daredevil in the original television series that aired from 2015 to 2018, revealed that his 6-year-old son has only recently started embracing the idea of his dad being a superhero. When Cox told his son that Daredevil: Born Again would end after Season 3, the young boy was visibly upset.
“He’s 6,” Cox said of his son. “So he’s just coming around to the ‘my dad’s a superhero’ kind of stuff.”
“When I told him, the color drained from his face. It didn’t occur to me that he’d be so impacted by it, so it’s very sweet.”
Cox’s life has changed significantly since he first took on the role of Daredevil. The actor met his wife, television producer Samantha Thomas, while working on the original series, and they now share two children. Reflecting on the past 12 years, Cox said, “My life is unrecognizable in those 12 years. I met my wife on day one of Daredevil and obviously have a family now. Those things massively shift your perspectives.”
Here’s the description of the Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 trailer from NYCC:
Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Danny Rand are getting official police badges. “Well, is no one gonna say it?” Jessica asks after taking a swig from her flask. “There should be four badges.”
The new footage focuses mainly on Matt’s life behind bars. He’s wearing a new kind of suit these days, which is decidedly orange. “I made a choice to pay for my so-called crimes for stopping a madman from turning the city into his own personal kingdom,” Matt says, content to serve his sentence.
However, there’s still plenty of action. The teaser shows Matt tearing apart his orange jumpsuit and then emerging shirtless, wearing his makeshift Daredevil head wrap and cuffs. He then proceeds to beat up some of the inmates.
There’s also a quick flash of Fisk screaming his lungs out, as well as Wilson Bethel’s Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter sporting his comic-book-accurate dark Bullseye costume.
In Daredevil: Born Again Season 3, Cox returns as Matt Murdock/Daredevil alongside Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn, Arty Froushan as Buck Cashman, Zabryna Guevara as Sheila Rivera, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist, Elodie Yung as Elektra, Jeremy Isaiah Earl as Cole North, and Jack Mulhern as Philip.
In Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Born Again, Matt Murdock (Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, fights for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (D’Onofrio) pursues his own political ambitions in New York City. When their past identities begin to resurface, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is set to premiere in March 2027.
