Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday centers on an incursion across three different universes: Earth-616 (the Avengers universe), Earth-828 (the retrofuturistic Fantastic Four universe), and Earth-10005 (the Fox X-Men universe). The heroes try to protect their universes as Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom attempts to accelerate the incursion.
The first look at an incursion in Avengers: Doomsday, from the Dunkin’ collaboration footage, has been revealed.
In Dunkin’s 30-second “MUNCHKIN Incursion” commercial, Channing Tatum’s Gambit lounges in a futuristic Avengers-style room, enjoying an Iced Captain’ccino. H.E.R.B.I.E. from The Fantastic Four: First Steps brings him a tray of themed drinks and snacks.
“Doomsday is here, mon ami,” Gambit says before asking the robot for help understanding the threat. H.E.R.B.I.E. explains the concept of an MCU incursion—the collision of alternate worlds—using Doomsday and Avenging Munchkins, Dunkin’s donut-hole treats, as a visual metaphor.
In a recent interview with ScreenRant, Channing Tatum confirmed that the Gambit in Avengers: Doomsday is from the Fox X-Men universe.
Tatum said, “Even where he came from in Deadpool & Wolverine, like you’re saying, he hasn’t been anywhere, in a way, and he was born in The Void, in a way. It doesn’t go into it, is what I would say. We start in such a place that we never really get to address where he’s come from.”
