The first description of Doomstadt, the capital of Latveria and the nucleus from which Robert Downey Jr.’s Victor Von Doom/Doctor Doom rules his country, has been released from Avengers: Doomsday, along with a new synopsis for Doctor Doom and a map of Latveria.
The film will debut in theaters next month, with Downey Jr. returning to the MCU as Doctor Doom in a complete change from his previous role as Iron Man. A major scene in Avengers: Doomsday will take place in Latveria, and a map of the country has also been released.
Here’s the description of Doomstadt in Avengers: Doomsday:
“Doomstadt is the capital of Latveria, and the nucleus from which Victor Von Doom rules his country. Adorned in lavish green and embellished with intricate stained glass, this seat of power is shrouded in mystery. Doom projects austere dominion over the home he is fighting to protect.”
Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom and Reed Richards’ Intellectual Parity Confirmed
The new synopsis for Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday confirms that Doom’s intellect and willpower are equal to those of Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards. It also reveals that he has a deep and complicated history with the Fantastic Four. The synopsis further confirms that “Latveria is not part of the Future Foundation founded by Sue Storm.”

During the countdown to the Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast, Downey Jr. said the opportunity to redefine the superhero movie genre brought him back to the MCU. He wanted to take on a new challenge by returning as Doctor Doom instead of Iron Man.
He said, “What brought me back was the opportunity to redefine the genre of superhero movies. We love a challenge and we figured, ‘Wow, let’s mix it up and see if we can get ourselves excited.’ Because if we’re excited, the audience will soon follow.”
