‘Avengers 5‘ is reportedly set to reportedly begin filming in the UK early next year. According to reports, the film will be directed by someone who hasn’t directed a Marvel film before.
Marvel is Bringing Back the Original Avengers for Avengers 5
A recent scoop from Daniel Richtman on Patreon revealed that Marvel Studios has reportedly informed some Avengers actors to keep their schedules open for the production of ‘Avengers 5’, as they’ve determined its direction. Benedict Cumberbatch is expected to return as Doctor Strange in the film.
So, we can expect the MCU Phase 4 heroes to return in the film. The current heroes who have a chance to return are Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain Marvel, The Falcon (New Captain America), Shuri’s Black Panther, Ant-Man, Shang-Chi, Wong, and Hawkeye. The Guardians of the Galaxy team will not be part of the film. It would be another $2 billion Avengers film if Robert Downey’s Iron Man or Chris Evans’ Captain America were to return. Downey has already confirmed he will reprise the Iron Man role once he receives a call from Marvel President Kevin Feige.
Who will be the Villain in ‘Avengers 5’?
Meanwhile, the villain was previously confirmed to be Kang. However, due to ongoing issues with the actor who was set to play the role, the film’s plot has been completely changed. Still, Kang is reportedly still set to be the main villain of the two upcoming ‘Avengers’ movies. Marvel is also considering adding another villain to the plot, with the Beyonder being among those being considered for the role.
The previous reports come from various sources stating that the script for the upcoming ‘Avengers’ film has been entirely changed. ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ is currently titled ‘Avengers 5’. The film follows the events of previous movies such as ‘The Avengers’, ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, ‘Avengers: Endgame’, ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’, and the second season of ‘Loki’. This film is the 42nd in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and belongs to Phase Six.
The upcoming ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ is likely setting up a soft reboot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) within Earth-199999. Serving as a send-off to both the Fox-Verse and the existing MCU, leading to the introduction of a new and different MCU. The film is the 42nd installment in the MCU, serving as the final chapter of Phase Six and The Multiverse Saga. Michael Waldron pens the script, and the director could be Alfonso Cuarón or Sam Raimi.
