Dua Lipa covers the September 2023 issue of Vogue France, wearing Alaïa. She was photographed by Mert Alas for Vogue.
In her Vogue France interview, Lipa revealed that she doesn’t listen to her own music: “I never listen to my music. When I work on an album, it runs in a loop, but the second it comes out, I don’t listen to it anymore unless it happens on the radio or in a club.” See the images below.
When asked about having kids one day, Dua Lipa responded, “The only baby I’m thinking about is my new album.”
Lipa said, “Homophobia & transphobia are neighbors of misogyny. Many people are just scared of themselves. The freedom of others forces them to come to terms with something they are too scared to express. The beauty of a free, true, and proud being paralyzes them.”
“Adolescence, puberty, will always be challenging. So many changes at once, hormones acting up… But yes, it’s likely more difficult due to the idealized image fantasy on social media… and the anxiety it generates. When I think back to my adolescence, I didn’t care about my appearance or my makeup. When I posted my first covers on YouTube, I wasn’t focused on my image.” Lipa added.
Lipa plays a mermaid-like Barbie in Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’ movie and is part of the soundtrack with her disco-style song “Dance the Night,” released in May as the first official single. The film made $1.286 billion worldwide. It’s 2023’s second highest-grossing movie and the top-grossing film directed by a woman. It’s also the 21st highest-grossing film ever.
