The first-look concept art for Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday has been revealed.
On ArtStation, Mushk Rizvi, the concept artist/illustrator, shared images of the Doomsday artwork. It also features Doctor Doom, Doctor Strange, Vision, Star-Lord, Hulk, She-Hulk, Black Panther, and the Young Avengers.
The Doomsday concept art features a medieval aesthetic. Also, there are concept artworks showcasing a universe set in World War II, a Black Panther variant, and a world inhabited by Hulk-like beings.
According to X user MCU Film News, Damson Idris is reportedly playing a Black Panther variant in Avengers: Doomsday. A leaked concept art appears to confirm this.
Doomsday production is confirmed to begin in April 2025, with set construction already underway in London, UK. X user @UnBoxPHD recently shared an image of the Doomsday set currently being built. The film will be directed by the Russo Brothers from a screenplay by Stephen McFeely.
Doomsday is a multiverse film because it serves as the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga. The plot follows Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, who isn’t truly evil; he believes he is trying to save the multiverse from incursions. In his twisted logic, the only way for the multiverse to survive is to unify all universes in one place—Battleworld—under his rule. He sees this as the sole path to ensuring survival for everyone.
In Avengers: Doomsday, Downey Jr. will play the role of Doctor Doom, Chris Evans as an Nomad, Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Wonder Man, Dafne Keen as Laura Kinney/X-23 and Kelsey Grammer as Hank McCoy/Beast, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.
