There is a surprise Zootopia 2 character tease in the credits of Moana 2.
At the end of Moana 2, Gary, the snake, who is a new character in Disney Animation‘s upcoming movie Zootopia 2, makes an appearance.
During Disney’s D23 Expo, Disney Animation revealed that a new character named Gary, voiced by Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan, will appear in Zootopia 2. However, Gary was first introduced in Moana 2.
Moana 2 is now playing in theaters and is projected to earn $380M–$420M globally during its opening weekend. Directed by David G. Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller, and produced by Christina Chen and Yvett Merino, ‘Moana 2’ features music by Grammy® winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foaʻi, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina.
The voice stars are Auliʻi Cravalho as Moana, Dwayne Johnson as Maui, Temuera Morrison as Tui, Nicole Scherzinger as Sina, Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda as Simea, Rose Matafeo as Loto, David Fane as Kele, Hualālai Chung as Moni, Rachel House as Tala, Awhimai Fraser as Matangi, Gerald Ramsey as Tautai Vasa, and Alan Tudyk as Heihei.
In Moana 2, Moana and Maui reunite three years later for an expansive new voyage alongside a crew of unlikely seafarers. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she’s ever faced.
Zootopia 2 is one of Disney’s upcoming animated movies. The film is a sequel to Zootopia (2016) and the second installment in the Zootopia franchise. It is being directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard.
Zootopia 2 will hit theaters on November 26, 2025.
