Jack Black, who plays Bowser (the King of the Koopas) in ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’, wants Pedro Pascal to play Wario in ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2’.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is currently making wonders at the box office worldwide. The film grossed $377 million on its opening weekend, and still, the count is going on. According to reports, the film has the potential to reach $1 billion globally.
Speaking to Game Spot, Black revealed he wants Pedro Pascal to play Wario in the sequel. He said, “Wario. Pedro Pascal is Wario.”
Wario is also the main protagonist in the Mario series. He is portrayed as an anti-hero and the evil and greedy version of his arch-rival Mario. While Mario is generally portrayed as heroic and selfless, Wario is selfish and greedy and motivated by a desire for wealth and power. Wario is also known for his distinctive appearance, which includes a large, bulbous nose, a bushy mustache, and a yellow and purple outfit. According to the comic Super Mario Adventures, Wario has hated Mario since they were both young. Mario bullied Wario with dirty pranks, such as making Wario pick up Piranha plants while, on his side, picking up turnips.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic from a screenplay by Matthew Fogel. The ensemble cast includes Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, Seth Rogen, and Fred Armisen. Produced by Illumination, Universal Pictures, and Nintendo, and distributed by Universal.
