Jack Reynor (Midsommar) has joined the cast of Lee Cronin‘s The Mummy. The project is an Atomic Monster/Blumhouse production for New Line, with filming set to take place in Ireland and Spain.
Cronin, director of Evil Dead Rise, is both the writer and director of the film, with his Doppelgängers banner also producing. Plot details remain under wraps.

According to Deadline, Reynor is not playing the title role. More casting announcements are coming soon.
Reynor is an award-winning Irish-American actor. He recently starred in Netflix’s 2024 series The Perfect Couple. Some of his well-known movies include Midsommar, Cherry, What Richard Did (which won him the ITFA Award for Best Actor), Sing Street (for which he won Best Supporting Actor at the ITFA Awards), Flora and Son, Free Fire, Detroit, and Glassland, which earned him a Special Jury Award at Sundance in 2015.
He will next be seen in Season 2 of Citadel on Prime Video and the musical comedy Power Ballad, directed by John Carney. In addition to acting, Reynor wrote and directed the short film Bainne, starring Will Poulter, which won Best First Short Drama at the Galway Film Festival.
Atomic Monster and Blumhouse are co-financing The Mummy. The film is produced by James Wan, Jason Blum, and John Keville, with Michael Clear and Judson Scott serving as executive producers. Alayna Glasthal is overseeing the project for Atomic Monster.
Reynor is represented by WME, Range Media Partners, and Sloane Offer.
The Mummy will be released in U.S. theaters on April 17, 2026.
