SUMMARY
- No third season is planned for Loki, according to the EP/Head Writer.
- Seasons 1 and 2 are treated as two halves of a complete story.
- Possibility of Loki appearing in an upcoming Avengers film.
The Loki Season 2 finale has premiered on Disney+. In Episode 6’s conclusion, Loki (Tom Hiddleston) becomes the god of the multiverse.
In an interview with CinemaBlend, the EP/head writer of Loki Eric Martin confirmed that Marvel Studios has no plans for a third season. The approach was like two halves of a book, with Season 1 as the first half and Season 2 closing the chapter on Loki and the TVA. Beyond that, the future remains uncertain, and the focus is on telling a complete story across these two seasons.
Martin said, “We approached this as like two halves of a book. Season one, first half. In season two, we close the book on Loki and the TVA. Where it goes beyond that, I don’t know. I just wanted to tell a full and complete story across those two seasons.”
The titles for Loki Season 1 Episode 1 and Season 2 Episode 6 share the same name: “Glorious Purpose.” According to Martin, Season 2 will “close the book” on that plot. There’s speculation that Loki might make an appearance in the upcoming Avengers film, as it is a Kang-involved film. The symmetry of starting and ending with “Glorious Purpose” adds an intriguing dimension to the series.
Will Loki Return in the upcoming MCU movies?
Yes, Loki is alive and set to appear in the upcoming MCU film. In the finale of Loki Season 2, Loki’s magic shapes multiversal timelines into the Norse tree of life, Yggdrasil. He had the power to revive dead time branches.
Loki Seasons 1 and 2 are now available on Disney+.
