Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday is all set for production. According to insider Daniel Richtman, new details about Avengers: Doomsday have been revealed, with filming scheduled to begin in March 2025.
Robert Downey Jr., who plays the main antagonist Doctor Doom, will film for about 3 months, while the main cast, including Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Ruffalo, and others, will film for about a month. The supporting cast will film for 1-2 weeks. The entire production is expected to take around 5 months.
Recently, a scooper on X, @MyTimeToShineH, stated that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will be the main lead in Avengers: Doomsday but will have a smaller role in Avengers: Secret Wars.
As reported, Avengers: Doomsday will be a multiverse film—because it’s the conclusion of the Multiverse Saga. The plot of Avengers: Doomsday follows Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, who isn’t truly evil; he believes he is trying to save the multiverse from incursions. In his twisted logic, the only way for the multiverse to survive is to unify all universes in one place—Battleworld—under his rule. He sees this as the sole path to ensuring survival for everyone.
The Russo Brothers will direct the film, while Stephen McFeely will pen the script. The confirmed reports reveal that Marvel Studios will pay Downey Jr. $50 million for each of Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, with the potential to double that amount based on certain box office incentives.
The Russo Brothers will also produce the two films via their AGBO banner, which is clearly outside the norm for Marvel, as they typically don’t work with outside producers, preferring to keep the team in-house.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released on May 1, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars will be released on May 7, 2027.
