Marvel Studios is reportedly still trying to develop the MCU story for the ‘Scarlet Witch‘ solo feature film.
What Is The Current Status Of Marvel’s ‘Scarlet Witch’ Project?
Marvel’s planned ‘Scarlet Witch’ project is still in “the conceptual stage,” as confirmed by Alex Perez on his Discord Q&A (reported by The Cosmic Circus).
When asked for the ‘Scarlet Witch’ project update, Alex replied, “It’s still very early in the conceptual stage since they’re trying to figure out the story.”
I have confirmed Marvel is planning to helm ‘WandaVision‘ and ‘Agatha All Along‘ creator Jac Schaeffer to direct the film. I am not sure whether she will accept or not. Also, the studio is working on a Wiccan‘ series for Disney+, which directly leads into the Scarlet Witch movie.
Will Scarlet Witch Appear in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’?
During the production of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine‘, it is rumored that Elizabeth Olsen‘s Scarlet Witch variant will appear in the film. But that concept has been scrapped by Marvel. Alex said, “No, she is not in the movie, as far as I know. What I knew very early on were ideas that were being heavily discussed and concepts that they were interested in exploring. Unfortunately, most of these concepts don’t pan out, and you’ll have to wait for the movie to see what I’m referring to.”
At San Antonio’s Comic Con 2023, Olsen honestly admitted that she doesn’t know what’s currently happening in the MCU. “I don’t know what’s going on. Someone’s gotta catch me up. I only catch up when I sign on to do another one. Someone [fill me in], I have no idea.”
Also, Olsen teases the Scarlet Witch’s next chapter in the MCU, “If I were to tell you exactly what I would want then I think would maybe be spoiling something.”
This year, Marvel has only one film set to be released: ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ on July 26, 2024. Additionally, the series ‘Agatha All Along‘ will premiere its first two episodes on September 18, 2024, on Disney+.
