Shawn Levy decided to have Hugh Jackman wear the classic yellow and blue Wolverine costume in Marvel’s ‘Deadpool 3.’ He highlighted that he was committed to ensuring they got it right, even if it was just once. A leaked video from the set recently showed Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Jackman) fighting at Pitstone Quarry near Tring, UK. Wolverine’s classic yellow suit is made up of a yellow spandex-like bodysuit with blue stripes on the sides and shoulders. He also wears blue boots, gloves, and a blue belt with an “X” buckle. Wolverine typically wears a mask that covers the top of his head, leaving his eyes and distinctive hair exposed.

At the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival, during an interview about his upcoming Netflix series based on the novel ‘All the Light We Cannot See,’ Shawn Levy said that, like everyone else, he’s waited for two decades to see Wolverine in a movie with Deadpool.
Levy said, “Like the rest of the world, I’ve waited two decades to see Wolverine in a whole movie with Deadpool, and I don’t know if this is our last shot at Wolverine on screen, so I was going to make goddamn sure we get the old yellow and blue just once and that we get it right.“
Jackman is set to wear a suit reminiscent of the comics and the ’90s X-Men animated series in the third Deadpool film. Director Shawn Levy mentioned they worked hard to perfect the suit and had help from Marvel experts because the film is part of the MCU. He said “multiple, multiple, multiple iterations and fittings.” He added, “It also helps that I’m making this movie within the MCU, so I have access to an army of the nerdiest nerds available to a Marvel project.“
Shawn Levy Reveals Deadpool 3’s Raw and R-Rated Style in Deadline Interview
In an interview with Deadline, Shawn Levy described Deadpool 3 as a raw, audacious, and R-rated film. They avoided using soundstages with digital backgrounds to make it feel grounded and real. “Our movie is raw, audacious, and very much R-rated! We went straight lengths to not shoot it on soundstages with digital environments. We wanted something that felt grounded and real. It’s more of a descendant of ‘Midnight Run’ and ‘48 Hrs.’ and ‘Planes, Trains and Automobiles’.”
The film is directed by Levy. In the film, Ryan Reynolds will reprise his role as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, alongside Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, Stefan Kapičić as Piotr Rasputin/Colossus, Rob Delaney as Peter, Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and new additions Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen. The script is penned by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Zeb Wells, Reynolds, and Levy.
According to the film’s plot: In Deadpool 3, Wade Wilson/Deadpool is arrested for time crimes involving Cable’s device in Deadpool 2. The TVA returns Cable to his original time and confiscates his time travel technology. Deadpool gets leniency and helps the TVA on a mission. Wanda’s spirit inhabits another Wanda’s body, leading to a new world where Magneto rules and mutants are the majority. Logan hijacks the TVA device to change history and ends up in different Fox worlds. Deadpool enlists Fox’s (X-men) heroes in a fight against Magneto, resulting in chaos and casualties. Wanda is depowered and banished by the TVA, and Deadpool and others are sent to the main MCU timeline. Logan searches for mutants while Deadpool finds Blind Al in his bed.
