Faran Tahir is set to return in Marvel’s Vision Quest series.
According to Deadline, Tahir, who played the role of Raza, leader of the terrorist organization the Ten Rings who tried to kill Tony Stark in 2008’s Iron Man, will reprise the same role in the upcoming Paul Bettany-led series Vision Quest.
Everyone thought Raza died when Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges) used a sonic paralyzing device on Raza and his men, rendering them helpless. But the movie never shows Raza’s death or any reference to him in further MCU movies.
Filming for Vision Quest is scheduled to begin in February 2025. It is centered on White Vision (Bettany) as he tries to regain his memory and humanity. After Thanos killed him in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, Vision returned in 2021’s WandaVision.
Star Trek: Picard EP Terry Matalas will serve as showrunner for the new series, which will see Bettany return to reprise his role as Vision, a character he has played in three Marvel films and WandaVision. James Spader will also reprise his MCU role as Ultron, while Todd Stashwick will appear in an undisclosed role.
According to Daniel Richtman in his new Patreon post—the Vision series will feature elements from the West Coast Avengers comic book series. Ultron will play a major role in the series, rather than just making a cameo appearance.
During Bettany’s MegaCon 2024 panel, as reported by The Direct, a fan asked if there was a possibility of Vision returning to the franchise.
Bettany replied, “Well, yeah. I mean, why wouldn’t I? Yes, 100%.” He added, “Well, I do have one idea. My plan was that he’d be sort of an omnipotent entity when he’s born. And then, as he gets more and more sophisticated with the amount of data that he’s receiving, he becomes more human.”
Vision Quest will premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
