The first-look teaser for Amazon’s Spider-Noir live-action series starring Nicolas Cage was screened during Amazon’s annual upfront presentation on Monday (May 12, 2024). Shortly afterward, the teaser leaked online.

On X (formerly Twitter), user Alex Tran shared the Spider-Noir teaser online. The 30-second black-and-white teaser shows Cage, suited up as Spider-Noir, fighting several villains. The series is set to premiere on MGM+ and Prime Video in 2026. Watch the teaser below.

Based on the Marvel comic Spider-Man Noir, the show follows the story of Ben Reilly (Cage)—a private investigator—as he descends into a web of corruption in 1933 New York City, while also uncovering his hidden past as a superhero. Reilly investigates the death of Edward Addison, leading him to discover that the mayor is involved in a nefarious plot with crime boss Silvermane and femme fatale Yuri Watanabe.

In a recent interview with ComingSoon, Lukas Haas revealed that Spider-Noir will be released in both black-and-white and color. He said that black and white makes it feel more authentic to the noir style.

Haas said: “We filmed it in—I think it may come out in both black and white and color, but when we filmed it, the monitors were all black and white, so you got this feeling, and it looked very, very authentic. To the point that I would actually go and look at the monitor and think I was looking at some older footage, but it was actually just a monitor of what was on the camera at the time. They did a beautiful job with the filters and all that stuff, making it look like genuine old 1930s black-and-white film. But obviously, just the writing—and Nic is incredible. It’s just a really fun project, and I cannot wait to see how it turns out.”

Oren Uziel (22 Jump Street) and Steve Lightfoot (The Punisher) helm Spider-Noir as co-showrunners and executive producers. The series also brings in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse creators Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal as executive producers. Harry Bradbeer will direct the first two episodes while also serving as an executive producer, with Amy Pascal producing through her company, Pascal Pictures.

The series also stars Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, Whitney Rice, Karen Rodriguez, Jack Huston, Amanda Schull, Haas, Cameron Britton, Scoot MacArthur, Michael Kostroff, Joe Massingill, and Cary Christopher.

Produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, with Lord and Miller currently under an overall deal at Sony.

Spider-Noir will premiere on MGM+’s linear channel in the U.S., and will then stream worldwide on Amazon Prime Video in 2026.
