From the DCEU’s Aquaman to DC’s Lobo, the intergalactic bounty hunter. A new look at Jason Momoa as Lobo from DC’s Supergirl movie has been revealed by James Gunn.
On X, Gunn shared a new short teaser for Supergirl, which features Momoa’s Lobo, appearing with his characteristic laugh and in action on his motorcycle. See the images below.

In DC Comics, Lobo, who has a violent and irreverent personality, hails from the planet Czarnia. He possesses superhuman strength, regenerative abilities, and near invulnerability, making him a formidable opponent. Created by writer Roger Slifer and artist Keith Giffen, the character is often depicted as a bounty hunter who enjoys chaos and destruction.

Momoa’s casting was announced in December 2024. At the time, he confirmed the news by sharing a quote from a 2023 interview with Fandango.
He said, “I collect comics, and I don’t do so much anymore, but he was always my favorite, and I always wanted to play Lobo, because I’m like, ‘Hello? It’s the perfect role.’” He added, “I mean, listen. If they call and ask me to play him, it’s a f*** yeah. I haven’t received that call, so I don’t want to put any fake news out there, but if they ever call me and ask me to play him, or ask me to audition, I’m there.”
