Tom Hiddleston, who played Loki in six MCU films, has teased Avengers: Doomsday with strong praise. He describes the film as “magnificent” and says it will defy audience expectations.
In a recent interview with The River, Hiddleston revealed that Avengers: Doomsday surprised even him when he read the script. He called the project “extraordinary” based on his first impression.
Hiddleston said, “All I can tell you is that Avengers: Doomsday is going to be magnificent and will defy all your expectations.”
He added, “It defied mine. When I read the script, I thought, ‘This is going to be extraordinary.’”
Back in December 2025, Hiddleston, while speaking to GQ magazine, said about Avengers: Doomsday, “My contribution has been contributed.” He then added, slightly less evasively, “It is monumental. The center of the story is absolutely brilliant and was so surprising when I read it. It has never been done before.”
As previously reported, Loki will reportedly have only a few scenes in Doomsday. Following Endgame, Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers is living a quiet life with Peggy and their son when Loki arrives. Now in control of the timelines, Loki explains that the TVA sees Steve’s presence as a mistake and intends to erase the timeline.
Loki gives Steve a choice—to relocate to a different universe where he and his family can live without being hunted. They are sent to Earth-828, the Fantastic Four’s world.
Directed by the Russo brothers from a screenplay by their longtime collaborator Stephen McFeely and Michael Waldron.
