The fight between Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Robert Downey Jr.‘s Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday will be more brutal than anything previously seen in the MCU. Director Joe Russo has already said in an interview that the Thor vs. Doctor Doom fight in Avengers: Doomsday will be “a hell of a fight.”
The trailer itself shows Thor attempting to attack Doctor Doom with Stormbreaker, but Doom stops the weapon with two fingers and hits Thor back without moving.
According to a new leak from a scooper, there is a scene in which Doctor Doom and Thor fight, and Doom chops off Thor’s arm. He then throws Thor’s hammer directly back at him and tells him, “Pick it up…pick it up!” Thor screams in agony, and Doom calls him a “pathetic excuse of a God” before beating him further.

Thor’s Avengers: Infinity War characterization will carry over into Avengers: Doomsday, Joe Russo told CBR. Despite the “wide array” of versions of Thor seen throughout the MCU, the Russo brothers plan to continue with the interpretation they established in Infinity War.
According to Joe Russo, Doctor Doom carefully studies his opponents and understands their strengths and weaknesses. His magic is also ancient.
“He studies his foes. He understands them and he’s also well-planned. He’s not somebody who just does something off the cuff.”
Doom’s strategic thinking and careful planning make him very difficult to defeat.
