Grand Theft Auto 6 is trending on Twitter (X) because of viral tweets claiming it will cost $150, but Rockstar hasn’t confirmed this, and there are no reliable sources supporting it. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick believes $70 is a reasonable game price. The game has no official release date and hasn’t been showcased by Rockstar Games, who confirmed its development but provided no further details.

Grand Theft Auto 6 may be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a PC version expected later. Switch, PS4, and Xbox One versions are uncertain, and no official platform details are confirmed.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Options:

  1. Standard Edition: $69.99
  2. Special Edition: $99.99
  3. Collector’s Edition: $199.99

What is the Plot of Grand Theft Auto 6?

According to a Bloomberg report, Grand Theft Auto 6 is said to revolve around two bank robbers, potentially named Lucia and Jason, in a Bonnie & Clyde-style story. Lucia’s involvement could mark the introduction of the first female playable character in GTA’s 3D era. Additionally, Rockstar is reportedly changing its approach to satire, striving to reduce humor at the expense of marginalized groups.

In February 2022, Rockstar Games officially confirmed the development of the next Grand Theft Auto, presumably named GTA VI.

“With the unprecedented longevity of GTA V, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered — and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway. We look forward to sharing more as soon as we are ready, so please stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire for official details.

“On behalf of our entire team, we thank you all for your support and cannot wait to step into the future with you!”

Grand Theft Auto 6 is developed by Rockstar North, known for all mainline GTA games since 1997. They’ve partnered with Cfx.re, the creators of GTA 5 roleplay servers, but it’s uncertain if they’ll contribute to GTA 6. Important developers like Dan Houser and Leslie Benzies have left since GTA 5, and Mike Unsworth, who almost completed his work on GTA 6, departed in August 2023.

Rockstar Games Officially Validates September 2022 GTA 6

Rockstar Games confirmed the realness of the GTA 6 leak from September 2022. They called it ‘early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto’ on Twitter (X) but didn’t discuss the leak’s specifics, expressing disappointment over the leak.

In a statement, Rockstar said, “We do not anticipate any disruption to our live game services nor any long-term effect on the development of our ongoing projects. Promising an official update to this next game when it is ready.”
