Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World is now playing in theaters near you. The film is a direct continuation of 2021’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, so how could we miss Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) in it? Yes, Stan reprises his role as Bucky in a cameo.
Will Bucky Appear in Captain America: Brave New World?
During the battle between the United States and Japan over adamantium, Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez) gets injured and is taken to the hospital. There, Bucky Barnes (Stan) makes a short appearance and has a conversation with Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie).
Bucky reminds Sam that Steve Rogers gave him the shield not because he was superhuman, but because he was a good person. He encourages Sam to believe in himself and asks him not to take the Super Soldier Serum.
It would be great if Bucky had more screen time in Brave New World. However, fans won’t have to wait too long to see him again—he will appear in the upcoming Thunderbolts* movie, set to release on May 2, 2025. The new trailer was released during the 2025 Super Bowl.
Directed by Julius Onah from a screenplay by Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson, and Matthew Orton. The film stars Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Danny Danny Ramirez as Joaquín Torres/Falcon, Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns/Leader, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Harrison Ford as President Thaddeus Ross, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, Haas as Ruth Bat-Seraph/Sabra, Giancarlo Esposito as Sidewinder, Rosa Salazar, and Xosha Roquemore.
Here’s the plot details for Captain America: Brave New World:
In Captain America: Brave New World, after executing a successful mission in Mexico, Sam (Mackie) and his partner Joaquin/Falcon (Ramirez) are invited to the White House to meet with President Ross (Ford). He asks Sam, the new Captain America, to reconstitute the Avengers Initiative. However, they almost immediately square off on opposite sides when an assassination attempt occurs.
The film is produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore under Marvel Studios.
