Note: This article contains major spoilers for Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
New updates on Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars have been shared by Alex Perez (via The Cosmic Circus).
Secret Wars is not a full reboot. Instead, it will update the MCU timeline to include the Fantastic Four and X-Men. The untitled movie before Doomsday will likely not be used for the film. Some heroes in Doomsday will make difficult choices and side with Doctor Doom, believing he is their savior.
Leaked concept art is mostly accurate, but some scenes may change during production. Doctor Doom’s goal is to stop incursions and save the multiverse from collapsing. He sees himself as a hero, similar to how Thanos saw himself in Infinity War. Some original plans for Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars—like Kang’s scenes with Doctor Strange and He Who Remains explaining the Sacred Timeline—have been removed.
Loki Will Return in Avengers: Doomsday & Secret Wars

Loki will be very important in Doomsday and Secret Wars, as different characters will race to find him. The New Avengers will not come together until Secret Wars, so they will be divided and lose in Doomsday. The main characters in Doomsday will be Doctor Doom, the Fantastic Four, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Wong, Bruce Banner, and some unknown mutants.
Filming for Doomsday will happen in London, and the Sanctum Sanctorum will be one of the sets. A rumor says Doom’s origin is connected to Tony Stark, but this is unlikely. While Doomsday and Secret Wars have changed, the main story is the same—heroes trying to save their worlds. There will be major character deaths, and they will be very emotional, like in Infinity War and Endgame.
The tone of both movies will be similar to Infinity War and Endgame, with a feeling of danger in the background. The story is inspired by Jonathan Hickman’s Secret Wars, focusing on incursions, Battleworld, and fights between heroes from different universes. Some interesting character moments include Doom’s relationship with Doctor Strange, Sam Wilson’s reaction to Bucky working with John Walker, and Monica Rambeau’s bond with Binary (an alternate version of Maria Rambeau).
First Look at Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom Will Be Revealed at the SDCC 2025

At SDCC 2025, Marvel may show the first official look at Robert Downey Jr.‘s Doctor Doom. Most of the cast is already known. It is still unclear if the Captain Britain Corps will appear. Doom’s team might include variants of familiar heroes, but they may not be evil—just misled. Battleworld locations could include Greenland, Spider-Island, Doomgard, The Void, and the Citadel at the End of Time.
In a recent interview with Collider, the Russo Brothers confirmed that Avengers: Doomsday will be a massive film, and Avengers: Secret Wars will be even bigger, adapting a major crossover comic. They said the runtimes will be similar to Infinity War and Endgame.
“If I were a betting man, I would say the first one is two and a half, and the second one’s three hours.”
In Avengers: Doomsday, Downey Jr. will play the role of Doctor Doom, Chris Evans as an Nomad, Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Wonder Man, Dafne Keen as Laura Kinney/X-23 and Kelsey Grammer as Hank McCoy/Beast, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.
