Netflix‘s upcoming live-action Scooby-Doo TV series is scheduled to begin filming in April 2026 in Atlanta. The show is described as a “modern reimagining of the iconic mystery-solving group of teens and their very special dog.”
In a recent report from Production Weekly, it was revealed that the title for the show is SCOOBY-DOO: ORIGINS. Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg are set to serve as showrunners. The series is a collaboration between Warner Bros. Television and Netflix.
Here’s the plot details for the Scooby-Doo TV series:
“A modern reimagining of the iconic mystery-solving group of teens and their very special dog. During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder.
Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever-so-handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.”

According to reports, the main five members—Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley, Shaggy Rogers, and Scooby-Doo—are appearing in the show. They are reportedly casting teen actors to play the high-school–aged Mystery Gang. Production is seeking fresh faces for the ensemble, with screen tests currently underway.
There are rumors that Frank Welker is set to voice Scooby-Doo in the series. The actor voiced Fred Jones beginning in 1969 and Scooby-Doo in the 2002 live-action movie.
