The filming for Netflix’s live-action Scooby-Doo: Origins series is now underway in Atlanta, Georgia.
Most recently, Tanner Hagen has been spotted on the set of Scooby-Doo: Origins, where he is playing the role of Shaggy Rogers. Hagen was seen wearing Shaggy’s iconic green shirt while filming.

Here’s the plot details for Scooby-Doo: Origins:
“During their final summer at Camp Ruby-Spears, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely, lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder. Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie Velma, and the strange but ever-so-handsome new kid Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.”

Recently, Netflix shared the first-look image for Scooby-Doo: Origins, featuring the cast: Mckenna Grace as Daphne, Tanner Hagen as Shaggy, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma, and Maxwell Jenkins as Fred. See it below.

Created by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears, the Scooby-Doo! franchise launched in 1969 with the duo’s first animated series, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, for Hanna-Barbera, which was later absorbed into Warner Bros. Animation.
The series, written by Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg, follows the origins of Mystery Inc. as the group first meets and works together on their first major mystery. Rosenberg and Appelbaum executive produce with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, André Nemec, and Jeff Pinkner.
“Mystery, Inc. is back in business! We’re excited to bring Scooby-Doo to TV as a live-action series for the first time,” said Peter Friedlander, Netflix’s vice president of scripted series. “The beloved franchise has had an undeniable impact on pop culture and is filled with universal themes of friendship that generations of fans have embraced. Together with Berlanti Productions and Midnight Radio, we’re excited to delight longtime fans and introduce a new era of groovy adventures.”
Tanner’s role in the series marks his biggest project to date, following appearances in The Pitt on HBO Max and Dhar Mann as young MrBeast.
Scooby-Doo: Origins will consist of eight episodes and will premiere in 2027.
