‘The Flash‘ earned $261.6 million worldwide but is considered a major flop in CBM history as it won’t even reach $290 million by the end of its theatrical run. This weekend, it made $5.0 million internationally, bringing its estimated international total to $156.4 million and its estimated worldwide total to $261.6 million.
‘The Flash’ Falls Behind ‘Black Adam’ at Box Office
Reports indicate that ‘The Flash’ will finish its theatrical run with a lower box office total compared to ‘Black Adam,’ which grossed $393.3 million worldwide. As per our analysis, The early free screenings of ‘The Flash’ happened more than they should have, letting many people watch it for free instead of paying. Some of these fans recorded and leaked parts of the movie on TikTok, YouTube, and other social media platforms before it was officially released.
Directed by Andy Muschietti and written by Christina Hodson, the plot is based on the comic book storyline “Flashpoint,” and follows: Worlds collide when the Flash uses his superpowers to travel back in time to change the events of the past. However, when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, he becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation. With no other superheroes to turn to, the Flash looks to coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian—albeit not the one he’s looking for. Read our review.
The film stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen/The Flash, alongside Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, Ben Affleck, and Michael Keaton.
Produced by DC Studios, Double Dream, and the Disco Factory, and set for distribution by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film’s sequel is already in development.
