Riley Keough covers the latest issue of Vanity Fair.
Keough opens up about her upbringing as a part of the Presley family, coping with tragedies, and her connection to Graceland. Amidst challenges, her role in Daisy Jones & the Six propelled her to fame while she navigated personal struggles, new motherhood, and a legal dispute with Priscilla Presley. See the images below.
On her 34th birthday, she reflects on cherished memories at Graceland with her family, including special moments on the second floor. Riley discusses the highs and lows, from her brother’s and mother’s passing to the success of her show and a legal conflict over the family’s estate.
Keough appeared on the cover of People magazine as a baby with a pacifier. Born in 1989 in Santa Monica, her mom proudly introduced her as “Elvis’s first grandchild.” Riley’s father has Irish and Ashkenazi Jewish heritage, while her mother had a mix of Scottish, Irish, Norwegian, and Indigenous roots. Riley describes herself simply as an “American girl.”
Her parents met at the Church of Scientology’s Celebrity Centre in LA, where she was raised before the family left the church in 2014. Raised with spiritual influences, she values faith in various forms. The family lived between California, Florida, and Hawaii, and Riley’s brother, Benjamin Storm Keough, was born in 1992. As she grew up, her unique upbringing set her apart from the norm.
In 2022, Keough co-directed and produced the film “War Pony” with Gina Gammell. The movie had its world premiere at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival in May and received the Caméra d’Or award for the best first feature.
