‘The Little Mermaid’ Makes Waves with Projected $200M-$205M Worldwide Box Office Opening
‘The Little Mermaid‘ is tracking to earn $200 million–$205 million at its worldwide box office opening weekend. It is expected to debut at #1 on the domestic box office charts with over $120 million during the Memorial Day weekend. This would make it the fourth movie of 2023 to open with over $100 million at the box office.

According to reports, Pixar’s ‘Elemental‘ is projected to earn between $28 million–$38 million during its opening weekend at the domestic box office. Also, ‘The Flash‘ is tracking to earn between $115 million–$140 million during its opening weekend at the domestic box office. ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse‘ is projected to earn $85 million–$105 million, while ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts‘ is tracking to earn $35 million–$45 million.
The film follows the youngest of King Triton’s daughters, Ariel (Halle Bailey) a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. Longing to find out more about the world beyond the sea, Ariel visits the surface and falls for the dashing Prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King). Following her heart, she makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, to experience life on land.
